Rewards and Honors

Dr. Ni Shunjiang earned a Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China (2000–2004) and a Ph.D. in Mechanics from Tsinghua University’s School of Aerospace Engineering (2004–2009). Currently serving as a Senior Engineer at Tsinghua University’s School of Safety Science and Institute of Public Safety Research since June 2023, Dr. Ni Shunjiang previously held positions within the same institution as Senior Engineer (2020–2023), Assistant Researcher (2011–2020), and Postdoctoral Fellow (2009–2011) at the Department of Engineering Physics.

His/her research expertise encompasses Collective Behavior Dynamics of Techno-Social Systems grounded in Complex Network Theory, Computational Epidemiology, and advanced Risk Assessment Methodologies. He has led significant national research initiatives as Principal Investigator for three National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, directed tasks within the National Key R&D Program (including one major task and sub-task), spearheaded a subject in the New Generation Artificial Intelligence National Major Project, and served as Executive Project Lead for the National Science and Technology Winter Olympics Special Project.

Honored with two Second-Class Prizes from the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Awards and a First-Class Prize from the China Occupational Safety and Health Association, he also received recognition as an Outstanding Contributor for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics from Tsinghua University and a Ministerial Commendation Letter from the Ministry of Science and Technology for pioneering work on Olympic Games public safety risk assessment technology. His/her scholarly contributions include 20+ peer-reviewed publications indexed in SCI/EI databases, and he/she maintains professional membership in the Society for Public Safety Technology.
