Areas of Research Interests

Subject direction: research on fire gas safety and emergency technology
Research direction: theory, technology and engineering of monitoring, forecasting and early warning and emergency management of urban fire and gas safety.

Research Status

He has been engaged in the research of fire gas safety and emergency technology, and is one of the main pioneers of safety emergency engineering technology in China. Facing the major national demand for disaster accident prevention and control, he has made key technological breakthroughs in three aspects: fire safety prevention and control of tall buildings, safety monitoring and early warning of urban gas pipeline network, and comprehensive emergency response to major disasters and accidents. He revealed the dynamic law of the early development process of fire in tall buildings, invented the fire detection and extinguishing technology of tall buildings, realized large-scale industrialization, and ensured the fire safety of major national projects, making it a national mandatory standard. He revealed the mechanism of gas fire and explosion in urban underground space, invented new laser wavelength locking technology and laser gas detector, and presided over the research and construction of urban lifeline safety project. The Office of the State Council Work Safety Committee and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development held an on-site meeting and issued a document to promote it to the whole country, and started the national engineering construction. He put forward the comprehensive emergency technology of event chain-model chain-plan chain with the chain effect of disasters and accidents, established a multi-department, cross-regional and coordinated "emergency map", and developed the emergency platform of the State Council and the emergency command system of the emergency management department. His main achievements have formed seven national standards, which have made great contributions to the development of China's emergency platform from scratch and by leaps and bounds.
